The United States maintains a large presence in Thailand to provide services to American citizens and for US visa applications. The main US Embassy is located in Bangkok on Wireless Road, between Sukhumvit Road and Rama IV Road. The USA also operates a US Consulate based in Chiang Mai, in Northern Thailand.
The services provided at the US Embassy in Bangkok include:

Receiving and approving visa applications for immigrants and non-immigrants

Notarizing and certifying documents related to US citizens or the US government

Providing assistance to US citizens in Thailand who are in emergency situations

The US Embassy is made up of numerous different sections and units that work together to offer cohesive and wide ranging services. These include the Consular Section, Economic Section, Media and Cultural Section, Transnational Crime Affairs Section, Defense Attaché Office, Management Section, Political Section, Regional Environmental Affairs Office for Southeast Asia, Regional Security Office and the Refugee and Migration Affairs Office.

We receive several requests to assist foreign or Thai clients with a US visa application. All US visa applications are handled by the Visa Section of the US Embassy. The Visa Section is a division of the Consular Section, which also provides oversight of its other division: the American Citizen Services Section. We also assist with reports of US births, depositions, document certifications and assisting US citizens in legal proceedings in Thailand.
The Visa Section of the US Embassy processes applications for both immigrant and non-immigrant visas, including the following US visas : K1 visas , K3 visas , F1 and J1 visas , B1 and B2 visas and US visa denials and waiver forms , as well as other categories of US work visas.
The American Citizen Services Section, on the other hand, provides assistance to Americans who find themselves in a distressed state or situation and also provides assistance in emergency situations in Thailand. US passport services are also offered here, included passport renewal, replacement or visa page addition, as well as the issuance of an emergency passport. Other services offered include legalizations and reports concerning births and deaths in Thailand.
